What this website and the lab’s portal record, why, and for how long.
Visits to this website
When you open a page of this website, the server records: the time, the page, the language, your IP address, the country it belongs to, whether you are on a phone or a computer and whether the visitor is an automated program (a bot), judged from what your browser says about itself, and the name of the site you came from.
The country is looked up on our own server from a downloaded list (DB-IP); visits are not sent to any other company.
Why: to understand how the website is used, and to stop automated attempts to find weaknesses.
How long it is kept
Records with IP addresses are kept for 30 days and then deleted.
After that only daily counts remain, without any address (visits per page, countries, bots), for two years.
Visit records can be seen only by the head of the lab and postdoctoral researchers given that permission.
Cookies
This website uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
The map on the contact page is loaded from Google Maps; opening it is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
The lab members’ portal uses a cookie only to keep members signed in.
Lab members’ information
The lab’s portal holds the research records members enter themselves (projects, papers, presentations, grants) and their profiles, for the lab’s research administration and supervision.
Members see only what their role needs, and the website shows only what has been chosen for it.
The Members page lists current members and alumni with their name, position, photo, university email and the texts they wrote for it. Anyone who prefers not to be listed can ask the lab to hide them.
The “in the lab” list helps members find each other; it is not for monitoring. Anyone can switch themselves to out, or hide themselves from the list, at any time.
